my creative space - not quite the after photos

A while ago (quite a while ago...) I got started on a cardboard box dollhouse, thinking it would be a quick job to finish. The evidence suggests I was wrong...

In fact, the doll house looks a bit too much like our house - lots of boxes piled up everywhere, holes in the walls, and lots of mess...

Luckily, the little wooden dolls who've been waiting to move in are pretty adaptable, and have started getting on with life in their unrenovated abode (with the help of an enthusiastic 3 year old).

They've already had their first dinner party (banana and broccoli pasta, anyone?) and tested out their new chairs (can you tell they come from take away pizzas?).

Not long after, the dolls showed their creative side, and decided to move into their art and music room, despite having wallpapered only one wall (but what a lovely wall it is!).

One day, there might be a proper after photo... but don't expect it too soon!

  5. Oh, I love the house. I was thinking about whether you'd done anything with it.

I didn't realise those chairs were from pizza boxes. Clever!

I love the wallpaper feature walls.

    Gorgeous!

  6. I adore your doll house with all it's sweet furniture, especially the piano! I like the way the house is very homey and lived in, just like a real house should be xo

  11. This doll's house is brilliant and it looks almost entirely recycled, you should post some tutorials.

  12. what an absolutely brilliant dolls house! I love all of their activities - the chairs are perfect! nothing wrong with a little work in progress and, like you said - a dose of reality to our kids playthings - a bit of mess and things unfinished, just like our house!

  15. It's looking great but it made me laugh when you compared it to your own place. Mine looks very similar. On the surface my place is neat and tidy, but don't open any cupboards and place just step over the 3 boxes in the garage we haven't unpacked yet even though we've lived here for almost 3 years. Who knew that in 3 years you wouldn't need your best silver and the ornaments your grandmother passed down to you ? Who knew!?! x
