but when she looked at it, she said "But Mum, we already have a cash register!"
She's right, we do have a plastic, battery operated, beeping thing (also thrifted) ... but now we also have a vintage metal one with pop up numbers, and a little knob on the side that you wind up to make a lovely "brrring" every time you open or close the drawer... I am a happy mum!
(Now if only I could actually get rid of the plastic one - that could take a while...)

I love it, and I'm more than a tinsy bit jealous. happy mothers day xo
Happy Mother's Day Catherine! Every mum needs a dinky cash register.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!! I'm sure she will too one day ;)
ReplyDeleteThat looks seriously cool, lucky wee girl!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm with Lyndel - keep this one for you :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific find! I have to agree with Lyndel, it is so rare to find a vintage toy in such great condition with a box in mint condition as well. Fun find!
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous. We make do with the old style Fisher price model that was recently re- released. Has a winder as well to pop open the till and coins to pop in. Hours of shopping fun really and not a battery in sight. Now you just need lots of teeny packets of things to set up shop. Mel.
ReplyDeletecompletely agree with Lyndel :-)
