the best room in the house (by far)

(please excuse this self-indulgent, photo-heavy post - I just really need to celebrate having one clean and beautiful room in our home ...)

Her room has always been the best room in the house, with gorgeous winter sunlight, and lovely vintage wallpaper that survived our "new" phase when we first moved in.

When it was time to say goodbye to her too-small toddler bed and stretch out into a full-size one, I took the chance to rearrange the room (adding only the bed, and swapping some furniture with other rooms).

(dress-ups corner, just waiting for a mirror...)

(books books books books books, everywhere you look)

(a lonely artwork waiting for some friends)

(we could perhaps do better with the light bulbs...)

I think I want to move in...

  3. How lovely, what I wouldn't give for a kids room full of sunlight, it's such a luxury. I love the linen on the bed, and the book shelf and the art work is priceless (I might have to get Ada to have a go).
SOmetime a room just feels so nice it makes you smile.

  4. What a lovely florally room. She is one lucky chook. Please do not feel self indulgent about having one lovely room, as I hate to think what that says about my copious posting about the one finished CORNER of my house. melx

  6. It looks like a very lovely and calming space. How unlike my daughter's room which is constantly a hideous mess. Bah!

  11. We all love a good sticky beak, no apologies necessary. I think I'll move in too! A perfectly sunny, gentle, inspiring, cosy-yet-spacious looking room.

  12. I know exactly how you feel! We have a 24 hour rule here - whenever I manage to clean, no-one is allowed to dirty or mess up for a day, just so I can enjoy it :) Enjoy your beautiful space! Kx
