a bookshelf pretending to be a mantlepiece

We don't have a mantlepiece, but I really want to join in with Estelle...

So here's the top of a bookshelf (a cheap one from the big blue and yellow emporium), with some of our favourite red things, mainly thrifted, including our newest toy- an old Sesame Street music box that plays "A person in your neighbourhood" (the girl walked back to the car holding it up near her ear like a boom box...).

More mantles (probably even real ones) over here...

Cute - I like that idea, all our toys are in primary coloured chaos! Can you draw anything decent on the Etch a Sketch? I always found them so frustrating!

I'm lucky to have some mantelpieces, but do need to sort more shelf space...

I really want to copy your 'mantel' shelf.... but it means cleaning out the toy boxes and that scares me just a little....ahhhhrgh, stuck on the horns of a decorating dilema!

don't worry about being mantel-less, you get to show us all you shelves and other decorated bits :)

Nothing better than a little red thrifted vintage toy love. Gorgeous mantle.
